At Home Self-Care Tips

Let’s face it, we all can’t visit the spa every time we need a little self-care. Luckily, there are treatments we can do at home to give the feeling of being at the spa without the price tag. Try one (or all) of these tips to create your own “spa” experience at home:

Lemon Water: Make yourself a pitcher of lemon water and fresh mint to waken your senses. Experiment with different fruits, berries or cucumber to find the combination that resonates most with you.

Music: Put on calm and relaxing music. The Calm app or YouTube are two great resources to find a variety of different spa-like channels.

Candles: Light a few in your bathroom for your bath. The light given off by candles is naturally calming.

Foot Soak: A calming foot soak is as easy as pouring warm water into a bowl with some Epsom salts, a little olive oil, and your favorite essential oil.

Mani/Pedi: Pamper yourself with a fresh coat of polish on your fingers and toes! Plan ahead and buy yourself a new color.

Mask: Create a natural DIY mask to smooth and soften your skin. Common ingredients include honey, oatmeal, eggs, coconut oil, avocado, aloe vera, turmeric and lemon juice. Try placing cucumber slices over your eyes while you let the mask sit.

Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus has a refreshing and invigorating scent that can help clear your sinuses and promote relaxation. Inhaling the aroma of eucalyptus during a shower can have a soothing effect on your mind and body.
